Hi Casazza researchers,
I found a little more info about my Casazza line I am trying to research.
Giovanna Casazza
b 25 Jan 1858 in Torriglia, Genoa
parents Antonio and Rosa Casazza
Giovanna came to NY and about 1874 married Giovanni Casazza (b abt 1 Sep
1845 in Italy)
they had Madeline "Maggie" in 1874 in NY then moved to CA. Maggie is my
gggrandmother.
I found that one of their Giovanna and Giovanni's daughters Catherine (b
abt Oct 1880) married a John Compiano (b abt 1877 in Italy). He was a
florist in Oakland. His parents were Andrea Compiano and Benedetta
DeVincen both of Italy and came to CA. John may not be his real name as
they called him Jack....seems like everyone else. Also John/Jack had 2
brothers who were midgets..Louis and Frank/Dank.
Another daughter of Giovanna and Giovanni was Minnie (b abt 1884) Not
sure if that was her real name either. I think she married a few times.
Once was to a Mr Rogers....no laughing....they had a daughter Jessie who
eventually married a Hatten. I believe they lived in Monterey sometime.
Minnie was also married to a Abramo Marki from Italy. I know she was
married to him abt 1920 and he died in 1951 in SF. She was listed in a
few family memebers obits as Mrs Minnie Marki at least through the 1940s
so I think they were married until he died. Then I think she married a
Joseph Guiesta until her death in 1977, but I am not certain in that.
