Hello Betty .... I have no idea who your Joe or Joseph CASAVANT was or
where the Casavant Farm was or who owned it.
Many CASAVANTs were Cultivateurs or Farmers. And many Casavants were named
Joseph as so many men were.
There was also an Antoine CASAVANT (1826-1892), born in St.Hyacinthe, who
held several Governmental Offices: such as Pres. & Dir. of Societe
d'Agriculture de Bagot Comte, & Member Conceil d'Agriculture de Prov.
Quebec.
Perhaps it was Antoine's farm. Antoine had a son Joseph-Georges by his 2nd
marriage.
There was also a Pierre CASAVANT who homesteaded in Saskatchewan in 1910
next to his brother, Joseph-Hector's homestead. There is a Casavant Creek and
Casavant Lake in that Township.
And, somewhere I'm told, maybe Alberta, there is a town named Casavant
Corner. So named because there was a Post Office on a corner there and a Casavant
was the Postmaster. Small town I assume.
Do you have any idea where in Canada the Casavant Farm was? Or the time
frame of when the picture wasa taken?
