Hi to all the Listers in London. Need your help.
Hugh CAZAVAN was accused of stealing, on 18 Nov. 1741, 18 yards of Dimity.
Per the Proceedings of Old Bailey, London, 4 Dec. 1741, Hugh CAZAVAN was
found Not Guilty and acquitted.
Thank goodness !!!!! I'm embarassed enough.
Can anyone in London tell me anything else about Hugh. I'm surprised to see
a CAZAVAN in England. The CASAVANTs sole ancestor in the New World left Auch,
France for New France, as a solddier, in 1664. Maybe he had brothers who
left Auch headed in a different direction. I have found the CAZAVAN name in
Rouen but nothing of its origin there.
Can anyone enlighten me?
