Welcome, Nelson ...... How interesting. There are 7 of us. Who are the
other 5? Maybe they'll let me know. I assume Sharyn is one. That leaves 4.
I'm Norman Cazavan. Yes, I spell it different. Only 4 of us in the US, a
few in Montreal.
I'm the published author of "Les Descendants de Jean Casavant", our sole
ancestor. I have also written 2 other Books that list the ancestry of over 200
Quebec families that married a Casavant. I have also wrritten "Les Filles de
Roi, and their connection to the Casavant lines" and "Les Membres de la Grande
Recrue de 1653" and also their Casavant connections. I have also written "Les
Descendants de Michel Jubinville", "Les Descendants de Jean Lescarbot" and
"Les Descendants de Jean-Baptiste Savignac", all of whom had a direct Casavant
connection to me. My grandpareents back several generations. I only had the
first Book published.
I visited the Casavant Freres office and factory at St.Hyacinthe many years
ago. I understand there are no Casavants connected with this business.
I offer my help to all in need. There are almost 1500 Casavant marriages in
my Book. Not all but most of the QC ones. Once they migrated west and down
south to New England it was too hard for me to trace them from Cincinnati.
I donated a copy of my published Book to the American-Canadian Genealogical
Society in Manchester, NH, of which I was a member, in 2001. They said they
never received it. Still in transit? Never returned. I am no longer a member.
Again, welcome Nelson. Who are the other five?
