I am looking for information on the Franklins. They came to California and moved to the Boulder Creek area. I don't have their first names. Supposedly they had several children. Carmen, Wanda, Jim, Nicholas, Francis Marion, Della and Hardy. My husband is a decendent of Carmen Franklin.
I am trying to find out her mothers maiden name and her fathers name and birth info. Death info on her father too. I believe he stayed in Boulder Creek.
Any information you have would be appreciated.
Jane Hewlett was a sister of my Grandmother (Franc Hewlett) and Lillian Hewlett. Jane married a Ferguson and they lived in Watsonville with their three daughters. I note from the Alumni Records of Watsonville High School that there were three Ferguson girls who graduated there (Dorothy 1924, Lillian 1920 and Frances 1923).
I need suggestions on how to trace the three Ferguson girls - Dorothy, Lillian and Frances. I don't have their married names or the first name of their father, Mr. Ferguson.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, John Gwynn
Does anyone have an idea about the Santa Cruz Co. Hospital in Scotts Valley
in 1920? Was it for all types of illnesses or only TB or something
I have a 14 year old girl in San Jose in the 1920 census taken Jan. 7, 1920
(confirmed she is with correct family; it appears she was visiting with
Then the same name shows up at Jan. 30, 1920 in the hospital (1920 census).
This family was mostly from the Santa Cruz Co., so it's not out of line.
However, the family mostly lived in the Watsonville/Corralitos area, so it
seems strange that she may be found in the hospital so far from that area.
That's why I ask if there was a specific purpose for this hospital.
Any clues or hypotheses appreciated.
I am new to this list. I am working on my Husband's side of the Family.
He had a Great Uncle, John Miller, that left Kentucky in 1920 and I have recently found a letter that John wrote to a Brother back home. He states in the letter that he is living with a Family in Watsonville and working as a Farm Hand for a man named Roscoe Jones. The letter was written Mar. 29, 1936. He also states in the letter that he is living under the wrong name. He is going by the name of J.C. Harrison.
If anyone has ANY info. I would greatly appreciate it. I can not find anything on John Miller or aka: J.C. Harrison after 1920 in Kentucky before he left. He just vanished except for the letter he wrote.
You might want to post it on the Santa Clara mailing
list or the Santa Clara Message Board at Rootsweb.
