Hello Bighouse!
I'm sending this to the list -- let's see if ANYONE
ELSE IS OUT THERE??!!
Nearly everyone in genealogy research is doing the
summer thing -- and there's not much focus in any of
my areas of research. Plus -- the BIG HOUSE name is
not a prevalent one, particularly in the US of A.
If you've ever done a search in the Italian White
Pages, though -- there are PLENTY -- some 6,300
entries!!
I'm planning a little reunion for my family Labor Day
Weekend and have finally purchased software (after
waiting about two years). I'm encouraging my husband
(the BIG HOUSE in our family) for us to meet with his
Aunt Josephine and get all the BIG HOUSE info and the
other line, as well (PADALETTI). She actually came
over on the boat and remembers the boat name, etc. We
don't know much -- other than the family is in Ellis
Island as THE CASAGRANDE FAMILY. As the Auntie is
getting up there in years -- I'm trying to convince
him that time is of the essence. I believe -- but am
not certain -- that much, if not all, of the info she
has is from memory and trips to Italy and is NOT
recorded in any form (at least any sort of form a
genealogist would be able to follow easily).
Best regards
Becky Redd Casagrande
