Shaunee,
It looks like we are talking about two separate Jeremiah CROWLEYs!
I am descended from Mylles CARY the immigrant of Warwick Co., VA, through
his son Thomas. The line is
Mylles>Thomas>Miles>Thomas>Thomas>Kemp>Armenius>George
Washington>Effie
Florence (d. 1913). Kemp was born in Chesterfield Co. abt. 1765 or 1766.
He got a patent for land in Cumberland Co., KY in 1819 and may also have
lived in Claiborne Co., TN. He showed up on a personal property tax list in
Ray Co., MO, in 1821, married in Lafayette Co., MO, in 1825. Kemp's brother
William, b. 1756 in Chesterfield Co., moved to Claiborne Co., TN, in 1808,
and to Cumberland Co., KY, in 1829, was a Rev. War veteran. Kemp's brother
Nathaniel died in Chesterfield Co. without issue. Kemp's brother John
Philipson is not well documented that I know of, supposedly left two sons in
Charlotte Co., VA, who had no issue. Kemp's brother Robert Philipson moved
to Claiborne Co., TN, about 1805; he was a Rev. War vet and was granted a
bounty land warrant for land in KY. Kemp's brother Edmund moved to
Cumberland Co., KY, sometime after 1810. Kemp's brother Peter Minor lived
in Jefferson Co., KY, by 1800.
As I am writing this I note that your Joseph CARY also lived in Jefferson
Co., KY. I also see that Peter Minor CARY had a son Miles who lived in
Nelson Co., VA. This would lead me to believe that there is possibly some
relation between our CARYs. William CARY, mentioned above, had nine
children, including three sons. Only one daughter has been identified thus
far that I know of. I am always on the lookout for possible candidates. I
will keep an eye out for more information on your Joseph as I continue my
research.
