You mentioned Barnabas Cary, blacksmith of Providence. As a desc, researching
Joseph Cary and Anna Brett, I'm very interested in anything that can be found
on any Barnabas. As you know, there has been an on-going 100+ years search for
the facts of the Barnabas's Cary. The Luther Cary manuscript and my own
research into RI/MA/NH records of Barnabas have made it seem extremely unlikely
that the Barnabas of Attleboro, MA/ Providence, RI/ & NH was the son of Joseph
of Bridgewater. However, I don't see the supposedly obvious connection of this
Barnabas to the "Crary" family either. I"m quite certain that Barnabas
Cary of
the Wyoming Valley, PA is the true son of Joseph and Anne (Brett) Cary, ie the
one that is recorded in the town records of Bridgewater.
Do you have copies of the judicial records you mentioned on the Barnabas of
Providence?

I only abstracted the records that I saw...
There were two lawsuits against Barnabus Cary, the blacksmith of Providence.
The first was an action by Allen Brown, merchant of Providence who sued
Barnabus for 800 pounds for his failure to provide wrought iron needed in the
construction of the new Providence City Hall. Brown had delivered 2,009 pounds
of unwrought iron to Cary and in return Cary agreed to delver half that weight
in wrought iron for the construction of the court house. The iron was delivered
to Cary on 11/5/1760. The date of the judgement was in the amount of
800#,15s,0d on 4/30/1761, Providence Court of Common Pleas, record book 4, p.
396.
The second suit was brought by Nathaniel Day, yeoman of Providence in an
action from debt of damage. The writ was not served, as the sheriff noted,
"neither body nor estate to be found", presumably meaning that Barnabus was no
longer resident in Providence County. Judgement was granted to the plaintiff
in the amount of 579# on 9/5/1761 Providence Court of Common Pleas, record book
4, p. 428. Original court papers are not found in the archives.
