Dear folks,
I am forwarding a message from a man who is renovating an old Cary home. If
there are any descendants of Wolcott Cary who can help him, please send him an
e-mail. Happy New Year>

My name is Rich Prario, and I am restoring an early American house built in
1820 in Hampton, CT. by Dr. John Brewster. The property was owned from about
1867 to 1903 by Wolcott Cary, who made significant changes and improvements to
the house. I was very much hoping that you might have early photos of the
interior and/or exterior of the property, as well as photos of Wolcott and his
family. I would be honored to be able to copy them and include them in the
volume I am preparing on the history of 241 Main St.
The house was in good shape 6 years ago when I bought it, but I have been
striving to give the interior a look truer to the 1800s.
I have enclosed a couple of photos of it as it appears today.
Sincerely,
Rich Prario
