Hi,
I'm looking for any information on my Grandfather Clark Cary.
He is a complete mystery, he never talked of his family at all. The only written paper I
have found on him is the 1930 census mentioned below. So please, if anyone has any
information I would love to know.
He was born in about 1896 (Jan 29th?)
Died in Oct of 1979 in Kansas City MO, buried in Moberly MO at Oakland cemetery.
Rumor has it he was born in Falls City NE however, according to the 1930 census taken in
Sugar Creek Township (Moberly City) Randolph county MO, he was born in Iowa as were his
parents.
I know that he worked for the railroad most of his life, first Wabash, then after they
went bankrupt for Norfolk & Western. In fact on the the 1930 census he is listed as
working in the "Railway Yard" as a "Car Inspector".
I was also recently told that he was in the Navy and was a first gunners mate. (That's
just a rumor so far)
I was told he has been married several times, but below is all the information I have so I
hope someone can help me fill in the blanks.
His first (?) wife Mary Jane unknown is listed with him on the 1930 census
Born also abt 1896 in MO according the the 1930 census, and her parents were born in
Germany again according to the census.
Died in 1934 in Moberly MO (she is also buried in Oakland Cemetery)
They had no children that we know of.
His second (?) wife was Rose Frances Burke (My Grandmother)
She was born Nov 11th 1912 in Council Bluffs IA
Died on Aug 3rd 1987 in Kansas City MO buried in Moberly MO at Oakland Cemetery.
Married Sep 4th 1944 in Hiawatha Kansas.
Together they had two girls
Susan Lea Cary born on July 30th 1952 in Kansas City MO
Sharon Cary born on June 2nd 1956 in Kansas City MO
Just a side not here. Also buried in Oakland cemetery are Gordon Cary and Rebecca Cary I
haven't been able to find a connection but thought someone might know.
Thanks alot.
Amy
