Hi Jerry,
I am sure that somewhere I have the original record, or can at least access
it. It is one of those things from my "early" years where I wasn't very
organized. (Not much more organized now) But yes, I have access. I have
the privilege?? of living just outside our nation's capitol. I can go and
look anytime the "real" world give me some peace!!
Anyhow, one of these lovely list members pointed me in what I think is the
right direction, by coming up with Edward G. Cary, b.July 5, 1846, Morrow
County, Ohio, son of John R. Cary and Eliza S. Lewis, who was a minister in
Garden Grove, Iowa. This has got to be the right one - only about 5-8 miles
from where Rebecca Exley was born, and the birthdate is approximately right.
Don't you love this list - so much help.

I am wondering if you have seen a copy of the original census page, or if
it was information taken from the census. On the original page, it should
have listed the states where Edward's parents were born giving you further
leads on where to look to find them. Do you have a good genealogy library
nearby?
