There was a Isaac Cary from Virginia who married Mary Bibb,widow of Henry Bibb.
Brothers:
George,John, and Thomas, all four men were free-born blacks from Virginia who went to
Toronto in the 1840's.
Thomas Cary married Mary Ann Shadd.
They opened several Barber shops,were abolitonists against racial prejudice.
George Cary toured and gave lectures. John Cary was a delegate at the Convention of
Colored People.Thomas was an early investor and supporter of the Provincial Freeman and
married its noted publisher of the Provencial Freeman in 1856-Mary Shadd.
