Judith:
I wonder if you have you checked Lisa L'Archevesque's "Cary/Carey Family
Home Page" at
http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/l/a/r/Lisa-A-Larchevesque/index.html
Following is her description of her information:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---
My family is descendant from John Carey and Elizabeth Godfrey. John came
to Plymouth Massachusettes from Bristol, Somersetshire, England about 1634.
There are several geneaology books published that include him and his
descendents. "John Cary, the Plymouth Pilgrim", by Seth C. Carey, 1911;
"Cary Memorials", by Samuel Cary, 1874; "Reverend Joseph Hull and Some of
His Decendants", by Amy Eleanor Hull, 1904; "Eleazer Cary Family with
affiliated Lines", by May Cary Smith; and "Samuel Carey, Participant in the
Massacre of Wyoming" compiled by John Miner Carey Marble. The line that I
descend from (Francis, Samuel, Joseph, Barnabas, John F., Miner, Mary).....
moved from Massachusettes to Luzerne County, Pennsylvania in 1789.
This tree contains over 8900 individuals descendant from or connected to
John and Elizabeth. In June 1998 I visited Bridgewater, Massachusettes to
see the memorial to John and walk the land that used to be theirs.
Additionally, I welcome any corrections to Seth's book and will add
information to my tree from anyone in the line that would like to add to it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Good luck!
Jerry
