Colonel Wilson Cary died in December, 1772. His will, 1772, is given in full in the
Virginia Historical Magazine, Volume X, page 189, et seq. Among other items, he bequeaths
the following:
"I give to my dear Nephew, Colonel Cary Selden, fifty Pounds current Money, in full
of all demands he may have upon me & it is my farther will that if he should not
otherwise be able to reimburse himself for the loss he hath sustained in some Carolina
money he had to dispose of for me (tho' I think Colo. Lem'l Riddick is liable for
the same) that he may be indemnified and paid out of My estate.
"My Nephew Colo. Cary Selden 50 pounds, one ring that must not be excepted, which at
all events I desire to be a handsome one, and presented to my dear Sister Selden [Mrs.
Joseph Selden] as a small token of the affectionate regard I bear to her. * * * grandson
Miles Cary * * * Sister Anne Whiting * * * son-in-law Richard Nicholas * * * My kinsman
Richard Cary of Warwick executors."
Perhaps you can obtain the full will from the Virginia Historical Society--good luck
