My Grt.Grndfa. Warren W Cary has been my brick wall since I first started doing research.
My Mother had always thought "he was killed in the civil war" - not true, though
he did fight in it. He actually went for a train ride and never arrived or returned.
Any and all help appreciated. Here's a timeline;
31 Jul 1835 Warren W Cary was b, possibly in Trumble county, Ohio to unknown Parents.
Mothers first name is Elizabeth.
27 Sep 1855 Married Sarah Jane Bolard in Spring Township, Crawford, PA.
had the following children; Adah 1855-58, Frank W 1864-65, Lizzie (my grndMo)
1868-1945, Frederick LeGrand 1871-1946
My grand mother died in Calif. All others in Pennsylvania
abt. 1861 Per "Special Examiner, he worked in Lawrence, Lawrence Co., Ills. for three
years before the war." (doing what?)
15 Feb 1864 Enlisted Co. I 2nd PA Cav. as a Saddler.
28 Jun 1865 discharged (have photo-stat)
1870 Census, Conneautville, Crawford, PA as Head of household, Sheriff and Tax Collector
9 or 10 July 1872 left by Train for Sharon, PA to visit married sister, who was ill.
Never arrived.
Disappeared!!!
Grt.Grndma filed for C.W. pension. Extensive search was done. General Affidavit dated
14th day of December 1892; noted by the Pension Office "All the original papers in
the matter of pension of Warren W Carey were destroyed by fire on June 1st 1874."

1920, married Jane Ellsworth brn in Ontario, Canada
Wells Joshua Carey brn 1868 in Geneva, Ontario Cty, New York died 1943
married Eva Mae Freer
Luther Wells Carey born 1903 in Canandaigua, Ontario Cty, New York, died
unknown, Married Catherine Hyson
I have tried to find someone else that is related to this family and todate
no luck.
