Marsha and List,
I cannot say for sure that there is a connection to Samuel, but have been told by one of
his decendants that a William (Bill) that I am looking for is Samuels illigetimate son.
If so then Samuel is who I am looking for but I would like to find something to show for
sure. We have been told that when Minerva found out about the boy she got on a mule and
went and took him away from the mother and brought him to live in the home with the rest
of Samuels children. This would make the connection between what we had been told by my
father in law 22 years ago...He said the only thing he knew about his grandfather was that
he had three half brothers...Sam, Alf and John. These are Samuels boys so the two stories
together would make it seem so. I would like to find him on the 1860 census and see if
William (Bill) is listed there. By 1870 our William (Bill) was married and already had 2
children of his own so he isn't listed in Samuels household. Also another thing...I
found Willia!
m Alfreds obit in the book Crossing the Dark River...it states that he is the last of 14
children of Samuel and Minerva to die...Anything I have ever seen just shows 13 children
for them...How many do you show?
The story about this William (Bill) came to me from one of Abner Henry Harrison
gggrandaughters she had heard it on two different occasions once from Samuel L. Carys
daughter and the other time was from Moriahs grandaughter. From everything I can place
together this would be who I am looking for but would like to see if I could make it where
there isn't a question in anyone mind. Let me know what you have on the children...
and by the way it nice to meet you cuz...
