I am looking for information on the murder of Anthony Robinson Cary in Pulaski in 1898.
He was the son of Miles and Harriet Staples who were married in Richmond in 1823. Harriet
was living without her husband in the 1850 census of Albemarle County. Anthony is buried
in Oakwood Cemetary in Pulaski City. The only information we have is that he was robbed
and murdered.
I am also looking for information on his siblings, Anne Cary Hudson,
Sarah Cary Elliott; Richard Milton; Mary Cary Brown; Eleanor Josephine; John; David Keland
(died civil war); Miles; Roberta Robinson.
The family has a letter written by James A. Brown, husband of Mary from Alabama in Mary
1898 responding to the death.
Anthony Robinson Cary served in the civil war:
