Johnna,
Isaac Goble and Nancy Ann Cary are my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. I believe you will find that
Martha (Marta) Oakley was the mother of Isaac Goble and was married to David "King
David" Goble. Nancy Ann Cary was the daughter of Isaac Cary Jr. and Eunice
Beardslee. Isaac was the son of Isaac Cary Sr and one source lists his wife as Martha
Oakly. I don't know if this is coincidence or if there is confusion about the two
Isaac's.
If you go to:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~smokey/index.html
and click on Surnames and then look up Isaac Cary you can trace the Cary family back to
the year 1170 in England. Written records stop there because no records exist before the
Norman invasion.
You can do the same thing by going to the Goble Genealogy Homepage at:
http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~goble/homepage/
click on "Databases" and then "#8 Unconnected". This one is harder to
navigate but is a little more complete and has some extensive notes for some of the
entries.
I have a fairly detailed genealogy of the Goble family going back to David Goble (born
about 1764) and including a lot of information on the Suttons, McPeeks and I remember
seeing the name Parliament. (I'm at work now and don't have the info in front of
me).
I hope some of this is new information for you and that I'm not just rehashing things
you already know. Feel free to contact me if you need further details on what information
I do have.
I am interested in any information on David Goble including how he got the nickname
"King David" (the Goble website says to check family in Port Jervis, NY, but I
haven't had any luck with that. Any information on Robert Mills, born in 1827 in
Sparta and John D. Crissey born 1807 in NY and living in Vernon Twp, NJ.
