I've been working with a distant cousin that is completing a book on the
Carys from Nottoway and Gloucester counties in VA which is where my line is
from.

I am the great granddaughter of Ralph, and Amy/ Annie Carey. My
grandfather was
Joseph Carey, Sr., the brother to Rev. Anderson J. Carey,
sometimes referred to as James Anderson, who is the father of Anderson Cary,
born 1891. I have been doing lots of research on the Cary/Carey family and
have so far been able to go back to the early 1800's to trace the family. I
would be intersted in hearing from anyone who is also doing this research so
we can compare notes. All of the Carys' I have researched lived in Prince
Edward and Charlotte County, VA. I believe most of the information that I
have is correct, as told to me by an uncle in the early 1980's. Looking
forward to hearing from you soon.
