I sent a message out over a week ago requesting information about Cary's in
Orange County, NC and received a lot of responses. As a matter of fact, I am
still working on responding to all of them if you haven't heard anything back
yet. There is one thing that I still find interesting that I have not heard
a response for.
Samuel Cary moved to Orange County, NC from MD and 1795. (Found my proof
that this is the first time he showed up in any records in NC.) His wife
is supposedly Rachel. Other than a Rachel being listed as a head of
household in the census records the next census year after he died, what
other proof in there that she was his wife?
Samuel had 2 sons, Thomas and Benjamin. Everyone seems to be working on the
family line that came from Thomas and moved to Tenn. Is anyone working on
the Benjamin line other than me?
I also have found information that says that Thomas and Benjamin when
purchasing property in Orange County were from Person County. Has anyone
found the Person County connection before now?
A few of the Person County Cary's are as follows:
Elisha or "Elijah" Cary died 1816, married to Dicey Cary
Kincheon Cary married around 1825 in Person County
Does anyone know who these people are?
I am still trying to find anything that tells who Benjamin Cary's children
were. Benjamin Cary was married to Ester O'Dear in Orange County in 1802.
My ggggrandfather Jordan Cary was born in Orange County in 1805.
Does anyone know who the children were from Elisha "Elijah" and Dicey Cary in
Person County?
Thanks,
Wendy Randall
P.S.
I am in the process of copying every piece of information that is available
in Orange County, Person County, Granville County and Alamance County if
anyone needs anything let me know.
