Hi Jane,
Here is all that I have, but seems to fit? Except not sure about Ann Cary - I did not
find an Ann Cary in my file b. at that time.
Caleb Gilbert b. ca 1748 d. 1805 Newberry Co., SC married Ann Buzzardt
Had 6 children:
Caleb, Jr. married Keziah maiden name unknown
Thomas married Rebecca maiden unknown
Lydia married Israel Chandler
Joseph
Sarah married a Mr. McNary
Synthia married a Mr. Reagin
I had a problem with my computer and most of my source notations and many of my notes were
wiped out, so I'm having to rebuild. Unfortunately I am uncertain as to where I got
this information. All I show in my notes page on this is:
[Gilbert1.FTW]
Family per "American Revolution Patriots & Descendants, Vol. II, HB Library
The FTW file name tells me it could have been from an email, probably from the Gilbert
rootsweb list, or it could have been from World Family Tree, but there is a source
reference there that you could check out.
Hope it helps,
Dee Ferris

Message Board Post:
I'm looking for an Ann Cary who was born in the 1740s or 1750s. She most likely would
have been born in PA, MD, VA, NC or SC.
I'm grasping at straws trying to find the last name of my 5th great grandmother who
was married to my 5th great grandfather Caleb Gilbert. Caleb was born in 1740 in Bucks
Co., PA and had moved to Newberry County, SC by 1769. I suspect he was married prior to
moving there.
There was an Ann Cary b. 1741 in Bucks County, PA to Samuel and Sarah Cary, but she
isn't the right one.
If anyone should come across a Cary will or estate record which might include a reference
to "daughter Ann Gilbert wife of Caleb," please let me know.
Thanks much!
Jane
