Upcoming Cary/Carey Reunions!
The Wyoming and Lackawanna Branch of the John Cary Descendants - This group
has been organized since 1882. A Cary reunion is held every year on the
third Saturday of August in the Scranton, PA area. This group was formed to
foster the memory of John Cary, born 1766 (son of Barnabas, 1733; Joseph,
1705; Samuel, 1677; Francis, 1647; John, 1610) in Massachusetts and came to
Luzerne County and the Wyoming Valley at the age of 23. He married Lucy
McKay. This year (2000) will mark the 118th reunion. Historian for this

Carey/Cary Family Organization - This group is a non-profit organization
that has been organized since 1993. They hold an annual reunion in Ocean
City, Maryland during the month of October. They publish bi-annual
newsletter; have memberships from over 35 states and territories including
England and Argentina. The newsletter serves as a excellent way of sharing
research; stories; short biographies and queries. Annual membership is
$10.00 and includes the cost of the two newsletters. Editor of the
newsletter is Helen Simmons Carey at: Amagnolia(a)aol.com Next reunion is
scheduled for October 28 - 29, 2000, at the Holiday Inn, Ocean City,
Maryland. This organization has graciously offered to send a complimentary
copy of their last newsletter to each individual that will send a SASE
(business size envelope with .55 cents postage). Send to Carey/Cary Family

It is hoped that this information sent out every few weeks will help us all
add to our research into our ancestory.
