Robert P. Cary died in Claiborne Co., Tn. leaving a large family of
children, most of whom have been accounted for. Several migrated on to
Missouri after they reached adulthood. I am particularly anxious to learn
more about Robert's daughter, Nancy CARY, born in September 1804. She was
still with her guardian in early 1822 when the estate was being settled.
WHO DID SHE MARRY? Would like to hear from persons interested in the
Robert P. Cary family--especially from anyone having old family papers,
etc., that might shed light on this family. My ancestor, Reuben Harper,
is believed to be a brother-in-law of Robert P.'s son, Hardin Cary.
Reuben's first wife was named Nancy and he married her in late 1822. Was
she Nancy Cary? Or was she a sister of Hardin Cary's wife, Sally Burch?
Either seems possible? Reuben Harper and Hardin Cary migrated westward in
about the same year, 1826, and on the journey Hardin and Sally (Burch) Cary
had a son born in Illinois whom they named Daniel Harper Cary. All settled
in Ray Co., Mo., in the area that became Carroll Co. Any help or
suggestions appreciated.
