CARY, Mitchell Dean 64, of Yellow Springs, OHIO, (Greene County) passed away Saturday,
July 30, 2011.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dean Cary and Lucille (Cary) Muller and a brother
Thomas D. Cary.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Judith Cary of Yellow Springs, OH; sons and
daughters-in-law Mark and Julianne Cary of Dallas, TX., and Christopher and Kathryn Brandt
of Kettering, Ohio; daughter, Lisa Cary and Ryan Meade of Beavercreek, OH; sister and
brother-in-law Sue and Al McClure of Fort Wayne, IN.; 5 grandchildren Graham Cary, Max
Cary, Lucy Cary, Daniel Brandt, and Jason Brandt.
Mitch held engineering degrees from Purdue University, the University of Dayton, and the
Air Force Institute of Technology, and was pursuing studies in Theology from the
University of Dayton.
He was a bomber pilot, tanker pilot and test pilot in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a
Lieutenant Colonel.
Mitch was employed at WPAFB as a Program Manager and Chief of Cargo & Trainer
Propulsion Branch. He was a member and Past President of the Wright "B" Flyer
Inc., a member of Leadership Dayton and the National Aviation Heritage Area. Mitch was
also a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots, Great Lakes Chapter, and the
Fairborn Performing Arts and Cultural Association. Mitch was a member of the Purdue Alumni
Association, and Phi Delta Theta.
He was a friend of Bill W.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Bethel Community
Church of the Nazarene, 4400 Osborn Rd. in Medway, Ohio. Pastor Dan Witter officiating.
Friends may call at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at
Grange Hall Rd. from 4-7 PM Wednesday.
Additional visitation at the church from 3-4 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Wright "B". Flyer Inc., 10550 Springboro Pk.,
Miamisburg, OH. 45342.
