I do have Harrison's book.
On p.xxv (Introd.), he says the John Cary of Bridgewater, Mass., "an
early member of the Plymouth Colony", whose desc. spread through the
Mid-West, seems to have a similar origin but the link to the Bristol
family has yet to be proved. Harrison gives two sources for info on this
line --- S.F. Cary, Cary Memorials (1871);
Henry Grosvenor Cary, The Cary Fam. in America (1907).

According to the book _The Virginia Carys_ by Fairfax Harrison, 1919, these
are the siblings of Miles Cary of Windmill Point, VA (1623-1667). Does
anyone know the accuracy of this book? Has there been a reprint? Is John
Cary of Mass. the same John Cary listed as the son of John Cary and
Elizabeth Hereford below?

1. John Cary (William3, Richard2, William1) was born April 10, 1583 in
Bristol, England, and died Aft. 1661 in Bristol, England. He married (1)
Elizabeth Hereford May 29, 1609. She died Bef. 1617. He married (2) Alice
Hobson Abt. 1617, daughter of Henry Hobson and Alice Dans.
Children of John Cary and Elizabeth Hereford are:

3. Thomas Cary, born Aft. December 27, 1613. He married Susanna Limberry.
4. Philip Cary.
5. Prudence Cary.
6. Elizabeth Cary.
Children of John Cary and Alice Hobson are:

8. Matthew Cary, born 1620; died 1648.

Windmill Point. He married Anne Taylor Abt. 1646 in Bristol, England; born
1621 in England; died Bef. March 13, 1657 in Warwick County, Virginia at
Windmill Point.
11 v. Alice Cary, born 1625. She married (1) Thomas Hayman. She married
(2) William Payne.
12. Honor Cary, born 1627; died Bef. November 06, 1644.
13. Mary Cary. She married Hon. Richard Harrison.
