Thanks for confirming that the son of Benjamin and Thankful, John Cary, never moved to NY.
Therefore, his son John would have been born in RI and not NY and I can check him off from
being the John I'm looking for and keep looking. And, his grandson would be too young
to be the John I'm looking for. Another one to check off.
I can also check off Taylor's grandson from being the John I'm looking for because
he'd be too young as well.
I need to find more information on Nathaniel's son John, though.Hopefully the book you
mention and I've seen other people have been using and suggest this book too will have
some answers. I plan on stopping at a library to see if I can find this book; however I do
live in WI so not sure if it would be available to me here. I'll check it out though.
I have searched the census' for John Cary between 1790-1830 in the counties of Albany,
Otsego, and Oneida. Three of the counties that I know would be included in my family
history and nothing has been too helpful. Especially since I don't know if my 3rd
great grandfather, Joshua had any siblings. I've also added in Dutchess County, since
I've found people in the census' who have family from there. I have found a lot
more John Cary's listed in the state of PA during this era as well. Not sure if
that's any helpful to me, either.
But Thank You to everyone who have been posting. Has been very helpful and I do appreciate
it. If anyone finds more info, please let me know. Thanks!
Paula
