Please forgive my lateness on this answer to a posting of Sept/28/2000. Here Is
what I have on the John Cary in question. John Cary 1583-1661 Draper of
Bristol, son of William, Brother of James who setteled in Charlestown
Massachujsedtts. 1st wife Elizabeth Hereford, (Issue) John, Thomas baptised
1613 will probated 1886 in Maryland, Philip, Prudence, Elizabeth, 2ns wife Alice
Hobson, (issue) Henry, Mathew, Richard, Miles baptized 1622 will probated 1667
in Virginia, Alice, Honor, Mary. Thomas son of John was married twice 1st to
Susanna Lamberry (issue) John the Elder,,,, by his second wife Jane --?-- Thomas
had a son John the younger. John the Elder born in America first married Jane
Flood, John the Elder's second wife was Mary Cox. John the Elder and his
brotherTimothy move back to Accomac County Virginia from Maryland , on Feb23,
1665 John patented lands in Accomac but on the death of his father-in-law in
1666 John acquired a home in Surrey County Va, In then 1666 records of Surrey
John states he " intencs to ship myself to England and trust my friend and
attorny, Benjamin Harrison to settle my affairs in Virginia." He Returned to
London and it is this John that became the East India Merchant.
