I'm not sure if it will help or confuse but the Carey/Cary surname project
has pedigrees posted that include three other Miles Carys from Virginia but
neither seems to correspond with yours. You can check them out at the
Patriarchs page at
http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/carey
There are contact details given on the page for one of the pedigrees. If
you wish to contact the researcher who submitted the other I may be able to
assist, since I am a co-administrator of the project.

I am working on my surnamed Cary ancestors. My great grandmother as born in
Oregon Territory 1857. Her father was William Henry Cary son of Armenius
Cary (b. Virginia) and his wife, Anna James.
A written history of the Cary families of Virginia, by that exacttitle, was
compiled in the 1960's by Mrs. Archie Toal who, lived in Stockton,
California at that time.
At some point and as additional evidence for me, about 1980, a Cary family
bible was discovered FYI one of the elder sons of Armenius Cary spelled his
name as Miles Carey as well as Cary, it seems. I have nearly all of these
pioneer families outlined, matching up in records and also matching the info
on the bible family pages, too.
I am STILL LOOKING FOR A COPY OF the compiled BOOK (about 45 to 55
pages) entitled " The Cary Families of Virginia " by Mrs. Archie Toal. The
effort was produced by photocopier and bound with three hole punch, heavy
stock end papers, and foldover brass pins as was typical of the 1960's for
such efforts.
I would like a copy, scanned if possible, or even a photocopy. The Bancroft
Library at UC Berkeley was said to have a copy but it has been unable to
locate their copy, I was told.
Any help, please ??? Dave
