I am in the midst of working on the CARY family again, and wondered if
anything new had popped up on Barnabas and Mary (SHORT) CARY. I have that he
was b. in Attleborough, MA (no idea of parentage; possibly surname was CRARY
but changed); m. Mary SHORT there. They removed to Rindge, NH where he died
in 1795, aged 76, and Mary died 14 Feb. 1780, aged 55. I have his children
as:
Elizabeth, b. 1755; m. Benjamin FOSTER
Sarah, b. 1757
Barnabas, b. 1759
Margaret, b. 1761; m. 24 May 1789, Abel GILSON
John, b. 1763
Lazarus, b. 1765
Mary, b. 1767
Theodore, b. 1770
I believe from other messages that I have seen that the information in "The
Plymouth Pilgrim" is only right in his name and descendants, BUT that he was
NOT the son of Joseph CARY.
I believe that the Barnabas CARY, listed as the son of Joseph CARY, went to
the Wyoming Valley in PA. Am I correct in assuming this?
Also, which Barnabas CARY served in the Revolution? Was it the one from
Rindge or the one from PA?
Thanks.
