If you are from the Virginia Carys, you should visit Bristol. Our progenitor Mylles Cary
was baptized in All Saints' Church, and his father, John Cary, was buried there
(perhaps his mother, Alice Hobson, too.) John Cary was baptized in St. Nicholas Church,
Bristol, and the earlier generations of Bristol Carys were baptized and buried in that
church. Mylles Cary still owned a house on St. Nicholas Street and another on Baldwin
Street in Bristol when he died in 1667. I think the Eastern Shore Carys are also from
John Cary of Bristol (by his first wife, Elizabeth Hereford). If you are from the New
England Carys, I do not know of a specific Bristol connection.
