Hi, My husband and I went to Castle Cary in 2002. I did not know much at the outset so
did not know what to expect. It turns out that it is a small quaint town. There is no
actual castle only some rubble and you can kind of see some foundation. The area is
immediately behind the town and marked. Don't let the lack of a big castle disappoint
you. There is a museum with lots of Cary info. The people around the town were very nice
especially when they found out I was a Cary. We stayed at the Horse Pond Inn - nice
accomodations at a reasonable price. If you have time check out the church and cemetery.
We also went to Clovelly. It is very interesting and beautiful. Of course, see the manor
and church above town as the manor was the home of the Cary's. Have a wonderful
time!!!
Susan
