Nelson's birth is not recorded in West Bridgewater or East Bridgewater,
either. Perhaps Simeon and Rowena moved to Maine earlier than 1815.

I'm having trouble confirming a birth date for Nelson Howard Cary, son of
Simeon Cary and Roana (Rowena) Howard. According to family records show that
he was born in Bridgewater or North Bridgewater on January 5, 1807. His
birth is not recorded in Brockton VR's, Bridgewater VR's or West Bridgewater
VR's. Bridgewater VR's record marriage of Rhoda ( Rowena on intention) and
Simeon on Oct 27, 1806, but the Oct. 27 is in later handwriting. With that
date, Nelson would have been born 3 months after the marriage! In Brockton
VR's marriage recorded as 27 Oct 1806 ,C.R.1, intention not recorded.
The family moved to Maine about 1815. Line of descent (if this helps anyone)
is
John-Jonathan-Recompence-Col. Simeon- Capt. Howard-Simeon-Nelson Howard.
Does anyone have any info or hints on where to go next? I live in Michigan.
