Do you have any other info on your .....grandmother other than 3rd cousin to
the Cary poets? Or is that what you need. I'm in one of the lines that the
poets are in, but don't have a Mary or a Cottrell in my index that fits. I
have a Mary b 1720 and one b 1862, but she married Sylvester Lowe. I haven't
put the poets in my database until I have better proof of relationship.
Do you have any Carpenter, Cooley, Dolson in your family from around Orange
Co.?
I have photo copies of pages from a number of books and records from a trip to
Orange Co that relate to Cary (Carey). These other families are either in my
female lineage or are neighbors. Does any of this seem to fit?

Searching for info on my gggggrandmother, Mary CARY. Family legend holds
that she was a third cousin of Alice & Phoebe CARY, who were well-known
poets in the mid-1800's. Mary was married to Joseph COTTRELL and they
lived in Cornwall-on-the-Hudson, Orange County, NY. Their children
included my gggrandmother, Henrietta COTTRELL, born FEB 10, 1849. Any
info greatly appreciated & will be reciprocated.
Interested in any information about the CAREY/CARY family of Madison County,
New York -- specifically Harriet CAREY/CARY (b. 1803/1804) in Nelson,
Madison County, NY.
