Diana:
I have more information on the Osage Co, MO CARWILE branch in the 1850--1900
period than I do of my own CARWILE branch in Limestone Co, AL........They
were apparently better educated and kept better records.
Jacob Newton CARWILE; ca 1802--1844 was the son of William CARWILE [1777--ca
1829] and Mary DANIEL [dau of Peter Daniel of Campbell Co, VA]. Marys
birthdate and death date are unknown. William CARWILE was a veteran of the
War of 1812 and his father Jacob CARWILE ca 1751--1837 (born in Goochland Co,
VA and died in Campbell Co, VA) was a veteran of the Revolutionary War; which
makes you eligible to be in the DAR (Daughters of the Revolution). Jacob
entered service in Virginia Militia in Fluvanna Co, VA........Proof that
Jacob is the son of William CARWILE comes from an 1851 Court Record of
Campbell Co, VA in the Estate Settlement of Zachariah CARWILE, brother of
William. In this Court record it lists all the brothers and sisters of
Zachariah and lists William as deceased and gives name of all his children,
which includes Jacob and Peter [my ancestor]. We take this Court Record as
POSITIVE proof of our link to Jacob CARWILE [1751--1837].
Willing to exchange CARWILE information if you are interested.

Hi Bobby,
sorry that it has taken so long to get back to you.
I am currently not researching this line.
I am a descendant of Jacob Newton CARWILE and Sarah COMBS Starr
Sarah Combs b.abt.1815 TN.
Sarah Combs married first to John Sidney Starr, he passed away, leaving her with
4 children, she then married Jacob Newton Carwile, and they had 3 more children.
Jacob Newton Carwile's daughter Sarah Caroline Carwile, married Henry South in
Anderson Co. KS(my gggrandparents)(her, 1st marriage).
Sarah Caroline Carwile b.5 Oct 1840 Jefferson Co TN. The first time Sarah
married, she married a man 37 years her senior, had a family of 7, that makes 16
children for Henry South. The second time she married a man 17 years her senior,
had 4 children, that brings her total children to 11.
Sarah Caroline Carwile boor 11 children, was a stepparent to 12 children, 9 of
which were older than she.
This is really all I know about the Carwile's at this point.

you researching? Peter CARWILE was the son of William CARWILE and Mary
DANIEL!!!! We think (older) William CARWILE died before 1830 in Jefferson
Co, TN.
