This was an answer from the National Library of Wales, I have heard
rumors that The Carwile Clan came from Wales. It seems this is not the
case, does any one know where the Carwile name came from ?.

Dear Mr Carwile,
I write in reply to your e-mail, dated 19 September 2004 concerning your
surname.
I have conducted a preliminary search of our indexes and archives,
including probate indexes and surname dictionaries, but no references
were found for this particular surname. A general search of the world
wide web, using a search engine, found numerous references to
genealogical sites concerning Carwile families, far too numerous to list.
There is no obvious connection with this particular surname and Wales.
However, as is often the case, you should always trace your family tree
backwards, as to ensure its accuracy. To ensure that the information
found is correct, U.S immigration records should also be checked, as
these will normally provide you with details of where the individuals
lived before emigrating.
I trust the this information will assist you further with your
genealogical research.
Yours sincerely
Cyril Evans.
