Dr. Rebecca Lynne Francis Carwile went to be with the Lord on January the
6th, 2006 after fighting a rigorous battle with cancer.
“Dr. C”, as she was affectionately called by her students, is survived by
her husband Robert Eugene Carwile, her four children: Robert Clinton Carwile,
GenaLynne Carwile Mooneyham, Francis Charity Carwile, and Nathaniel Cody
Carwile. Becky likewise leaves behind her mother Dr. Azalia S. Moore, wife of Dr.
Charles Moore, and her brother Robert Leon Francis Jr.
Becky’s mission in life was to reach others through her gift of teaching.
She spoke at early childhood conferences throughout Europe, Asia, the US, South
Africa, and Japan. Dr. Carwile served as the Associate Dean for the School
of Education at Liberty University. Coupling her vast academic knowledge with
her strong faith, Dr. C used these forums to help spread God’s love across
the globe.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January the 9th at 1 pm at Thomas
Road Baptist Church by Dr. Jerry Falwell. Interment will follow in Virginia
Memorial Park.
Family visitation will be held from 5- 8 pm at the Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
