OBITUARY Column
Patricia J. (Carwile) Tunstill
The funeral for Patricia "Trish" (Carwile) Jenkins Tunstill , 50, of
Elkmont, will be
at 11:00 a.m. today at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Tony Smith, Danny
McMullins and John Norman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Mrs. Tunstill died Tuesday, September 26, in Athens.
She was born October 7, 1949, in Limestone County. She was a member of
First Union Baptist Church. She graduated from West Limestone High School in
1967 and earned a doctorate from the University of Alabama. She was a former
teacher in Athens City and Limestone County Schools and a retired professor
from
Athens State University. She was a realtor with Sunrise Realty.
She was preceded in death by her father, Fulton Carwile.
She is survived by one son, Jordan Rudder Jenkins, Elkmont; her mother,
Katherine Carwile, Athens; one brother, Gene Carwile, Evington, Virginia; and
several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clint Carwile, Coty Johns, Mark Abernathy, Reed
Tunstill,
Daniel Tucker, T. J. Barnett, Phillip Laye and Andrew Smith.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Support Group, 25272 Capshaw Rd,
Athens, Alabama 35613.
This was my first cousin. She was taken from us instantly in an automobile
accident on September 26, 2000. She was a fine lady who will be missed by
all who knew her. Please say a prayer for this family in its time of
mourning.
