CARWILE:
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and
friend, Joseph Frederick "Fred" CARWILE, SR., age 80, passed away May 2,
2004, at his residence in Houston. Fred was born September 9, 1923, in
Montgomery, Texas, to John and Irene CARWILE.
He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WW II and
was honored to have served under the direction of General George PATTON. He
was a member of ILA #1351 and employed by Sea Land Shipping Co. for 30 years.
Fred loved square dancing and travel with his wife of 56 years, Ruby, and
taking his children on motorcycle rides, camping, water skiing and a good bowl of
Blue Bell Ice Cream.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Ruby; children: Joseph CARWILE, Jr.
& wife, Camille; Mark CARWILE; Virginia DENNARD & husband, Patrick; and Becky
DENTON & husband, Scott; (8) grandchildren; (4) great-grandchildren; (2)
sisters and (3) brothers.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 4, 2004,
between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May
5, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. Pastor Pete
WHITAKER will officiate. Interment will follow at Earthman's Reshaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Fred's name to Baptist
Temple, 230 W 20th Street, Houston, TX 77008. Fred never met a stranger. He will
remain in our hearts and missed by all who knew him.
