My ggg grandfather was from VA (I think) I know N. Carolina but think his parents came
from VA. We have been Baptist as far as I know. If you happen to have found anything on
a James Carvin (Carvan) born 1790, I could really use the help! Thanks :)

My Carvin ancestors in America go back to William Carvin, who emigrated from Ireland c.
1830, but I know not where from. I am interested in the religious affiliations of any and
all Carvins. The various Carvins who began appearing in the American colonies in the
1700's, beginning in Roanoke, VA, were all (to my knowledge) Baptists or
Presbyterians, but my Carvin ancestors were Catholics. I assume any Catholic Carvins are
more likely relatives of mine.
