Retha Mae Woodward, 77, died Monday, June 30, 2008, in Oklahoma City. She was born May
22, 1931, in Creek County, to Wilson Owen "Buck" and Margie Carver.
Retha grew up in the Depression and made it through hard times. She was a great pet lover
and worked as a nurse's aide in Pampa which she found very fulfilling. She was
compassionate and kind toward the needy and always there for her family.
Retha was very patriotic and proud of her Cherokee heritage. She was a wonderful cook and
enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a strong-willed, vibrant woman who loved her
family and pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, MyrSie.
Survivors include her husband, William Ray Woodward; daughter, Angela Woodward; grandson,
Jason Woodward, and sister, Deberah Speer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
11 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, at St. Charles Borromeo Church with interment at 2 p.m., at
Magnolia Grove Cemetery in Bristow.
Bill Merritt Funeral Service of Bethany are in charge of arrangements.
