I checked this out- Cleve Hobart Carver, Cosby ,Cocke County, Tennessee. in US 1920 and
1930 census. Birth and death dates match. Buried in Catons Grove Methodist Cemetery in
Newport Tennessee. He was the son of Cornelius and Dovie Carver and the husband of Gardie
Evans who he married in 1936. Military stone ordered in 1949. Sorry, I can't find any
photos. You may try posting to the Cocke county, Tennessee Rootsweb board.
1940s Cocke County was VERY rural- mountainous, dirt poor area. There was no electric
until the late 50s. Cleve would be lucky to have completed 4th or 5th grade.
Good luck!

Subject: [CARVER] WW2/Carver
Dear List Members,
Please assist me with the following.
I am from Holland and have an interest in WW 2 history.
I do research about US servicemen that were killed in WW 2 and are/were buried in the US
Military Cemetery in Holland (and Belgium), near where I live.
I am searching for information about and in particular a picture from:
Cleve H. Carver, killed March 25th 1945.
He was from Cocke County, MO, Cosby (?) born April 23rd 1916.
Can you please help me? Perhaps there was a notice about his death in 1945 in a local
newspaper or in a yearbook.
Other information will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
kind regards from Holland,
AN
