I'm happy this helped. Here is what I have on Zalmon's youngest brother George.
I know you have most of it, but maybe there is some you don't have and will be able to
use.
George Carver b. 1814 Cayuga Co., New York and d. 19 Oct 1873 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio. He
is buried in Damascus Cemetery, Liberty Center, Henry, Ohio. George was the son of Dyer
Carver and Lucy Rathbone. He married 4 October 1845 in Wood Co., Ohio to Margaret Smith b
<1827> d. unk.
The children of George and Margaret Carver were:
1. Willard Amos Carver b. 1851 in Texas, Washington Twp., Henry, Ohio. Willard d. 16 May
1920 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio and was buried 19 May 1920 in Forest Cemetery (Toledo).
Willard married 12 Apr 1891 in Lucas County, Ohio to Eleanor "Ella" Dubbs.
2. Arthur St. Clair Carver b. 3 Oct 1858 in Ohio, d. 16 May 1912 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio,
he was buried in Forest Cemetery (Toledo) on 20 May 1912. Arthur married 30 June 1883
Henry Twp, Wood County, Ohio to Viola Crew.
There is also another child or children. The Rathbone Genealogy (1898) says that there
was a child Francis, but it also has all the children attributed to George Carver's
2nd wife. I have been told that there was a son Richard but have not yet found any record
for either him or of Francis. The 1860 census list a Clarence(?) D. who would have been
b. <1854>, but it has this child as a female so the name may be Clare__ or the sex
may have been recorded incorrectly.
1860 Ohio, Henry, Texas
Carver, George, 45, b. NY, Superintendant of Canal
Margaret, 35, b. OH
Amos W., 9, b. OH

George Carver was almost 47 years old when he remarried 25 Aug 1861 in Henry county Ohio
to Frances A. Chandler who was 17. Frances was the daughter of Philo Chandler and Barbara
Green. She was born 29 Jan 1844 in Damascus Twp., Henry County, Ohio and died 24 Feb 1927
in St. Petersburg, Pinellas, Florida. Frances was buried 26 Feb 1927 in Royal Palm
Cemetery (St. Petersburg).
George enlisted in the military 6 June 1862 at the age of 47 in Co.C, 128th Ohio Inf as a
2nd lieutenant. He was stationed at the Prisoner of War depot near Sandusky, Ohio and
Johnson's Island. On 5 June 1863 he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant and on 29 Mar 1865
to Captain. He mustered out 9 June 1865 at Johnson's Island, Sandusky, Ohio
The children of George Carver and Frances Chandler were:
1. Cora R. Carver b. 25 May 1863 in Texas, Washington Twp, Henry, Ohio
2. Anna C. Carver b. 9 Jan 1865 at Johnson's Island, Lake Erie, Ohio
3. Daisy Luella Carver b. about 24 Dec 1869 in Toledo, Lucas, Ohio

George Carver died 19 Oct 1873 in Toledo, Ohio. The death records list the cause of death
as suicide poison. He was 59 years old. He is buried in Damascus Cemetery, Liberty
Center, Henry, Ohio. He has a military headstone that says Lieutenant George Carver
although he was promoted to Captain 3 months before he mustered out.
1880 finds George's two sons Willard 23 (William in the census) and Arthur 21 living
in Steuben, Steuben, Indiana with their cousin and her husband, Eugene S. and Addie A.
(Carver) Aldrich. Addie is the daughter of Amos Rathbone Carver. In 1883 Arthur St.Clair
Carver married Viola Belle Crew in Henry, Wood, Ohio and in 1891 Willard Amos Carver
married Catherine Eleanor "Ella" Dubbs in Lucas, Ohio.
1880 Ohio, Lucas, Toledo
Carver, Frances, 36, widow, Matron of Inn, b. OH, VT, PA
Annie, 15, daughter, goes to school, b. OH, NY, OH
Several patrons
By 1880 daughters Cora and Daisy are in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan living with
relatives. Cora 17 is enumerated with her Aunt and Uncle, Amos and Amanda Rathbun. Cora
is listed as a Carver in the census, but her relationship to them is "adopted
Daughter". Daisy 11 is with her cousin Gouverneur Rathbun and his family. She is
listed as "servant". At some point Daisy also goes to live with her Aunt Amanda
as the "Rathbone Genealogy (1898)" states, "Daisy who lives with her aunt
Mrs. Amos Rathbone of Grand Rapids, Mich." The Rathbun/Rathbones of Grand Rapids
were very well off. Both of the girls appear to have thought very highly of the family,
especially Cora who named her daughter Amanda Rathbone after her aunt. The girls, if not
formally adopted, appear to have felt accepted into the family as they both used Rathbone
as their last name when they were married.
On 16 June 1886 Cora Carver (Cornelia Rathbone on the marriage record) married Preston S.
Fancher. The ceremony was witnessed by her aunt Amanda Rathbone. Nine months later on 23
Mar 1887 daughter Amanda Rathbone Fancher was born. Preston stayed with Cora until around
1902 or unbeknownst to Cora around that time he started another family in Toledo, Ohio.
Preston is found running businesses in both Michigan and Ohio. It appears that he divided
his time between the two states and that he and Cora may have had an "on again off
again" relationship. Cora was granted a divorce from Preston 2 Mar 1916 but by that
time he had 4 children in Toledo, Ohio with Germaine Exilda "Bernice" Smith who
was originally from Saginaw, Michigan. There was definitely something amiss as Preston
used the name Fancher when he was in Michigan and used the name French when he was in Ohio
depending on the situation. Cora (Carver) Fancher died 29 Dec 1919 in Detroit, Michigan
from pneumonia and was!
buried next to her adoptive parents Amos and Amanda Rathbone in Oak Hill Cemetery, Grand
Rapids, Michigan. Cora's only child Amanda Rathbone Fancher married Ralph Earl
Preston.
George and Frances Carver's second daughter Anna C. Carver seems to have stayed with
her mother until she, Anna, was married 2 Nov 1884 in Wood, Ohio to John C. Becker. Both
John and Anna died in St. Petersburg, Florida, she on 24 Dec 1927 and he on 21 Mar 1928.
They are buried in Royal Palm Cemetery (St. Petersburg) as is her mother Frances. Anna
and John had no children of their own. They had an adopted son Robert J. A. Becker who
was born 13 Nov 1890 in Bowling Green, Wood, Ohio. Robert's biological parents where
Stephen D. and Romilia Jane (Ferguson) Allen. Romilia died when Robert was 3 months old.
John and Anna also took care of their Ellinwood nephews when they were younger.
George and Frances' youngest daughter, Daisy Luella Carver married 18 Nov 1889 in
Toledo, Ohio to Fredrick Gordon Ellinwood. The wedding record lists her as Daisy Corbin
Rathbone. Daisy and Fred lived for awhile in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan and two of
their children were born there.
1. Charles Judson Ellinwood, 16 Apr 1891
2. Fredrick Gordon Ellinwood, Jr. 29 July 1893
Around February or March of 1897 the family moved from Grand Rapids to Toledo, Ohio where
a third son was born.
3. Norman "Bud" Ellinwood, b. 19 May 1897. Norman was born premature and died
16 Aug 1897 at the age of 3 months. He was buried in Forest Cemetery (Toledo, Ohio). The
death records said that the cause of death was premature birth - inanition. Inanition
means his body did not get enough nutrition. This was probably due to his being
premature.
In September of 1897 Daisy began seeing a doctor. She was under treatment for 12 months,
but died 3 Sept 1898 of "abscess of lungs". Daisy Luella Ellinwood age
28:8:10, was buried in Forest Cemetery (Toledo, Ohio). In Nov 1899 Norman was exhumed
from a different area in Forest cemetery and reburied with his mother. This is about the
time Fred Ellinwood, Sr. left Ohio and returned to Michigan. The boys, Charles J. and
Fredrick G., lived with Daisy's family. Charles Judson Ellinwood stayed mostly in
Detroit, Michigan with his aunt Cora R. (Carver-Rathbone) Fancher and Fredrick Gordon
Ellinwood, Jr. stayed mainly in Toledo, Ohio with his aunt Anna C. (Carver) Becker.
