Okay, this is what I found out from my cousin about William Carver. She
gave me a website about the gang,
http://home.att.net/~wk354/ . This website
has a lot of information about the gang in general, and about individual
members--including Will Carver. From this website is another link,
http://www.willcarver.150m.com/. This second web site is owned by Donna
Ernst whose mother-in-law was a niece of Longabaugh, another member of the gang.
Donna has also written some books on the gang.
Donna has Will Carver's lineage from PA that she found in family bible
records, and she has a timeline of Will Carver's life on her web site. Longabaugh
was from the same region in PA, so it's likely he and Carver knew each other as
young men. The PA lineage starts out sometime in the early 1700's, I
believe. The photos from two web sites should be self-explanatory with the names of
the people in the photo. Will Carver is wearing the jaunty derby, standing on
the left (as you are looking at the photo) in back.
Although Will Carver is not in my line, I look forward to checking these
websites out much more thoroughly than I have done (I wanted to get the info out
to the list today). There's a lot of fascinating information on these sites.
Thanks to my fifth cousin Bev (another descendant of Robert Carver of
Massachussetts) for the information!
Enjoy and good luck!
