hi, i know this is way late but hope you still are
monitoring this forum. having similar trouble with the
archibald carver hannah bussey connection. many researchers
have linked a richard carver from south carolina formerly of
ablemarle va as a brother to james carver of the revolution
and child of archibald carver. trouble is even without that
much being documented, what ive gathered is the william
carver m. jane moore link is an issue. ann carver, consort
of richard brasswell is the well documented proginator of
the carver line that runs through casswell north carolina,
she inherited all of her fathers property and estate on his
death. trouble being that according to brasswell researchers
who have been collaborating with carver researchers, she
seems to have been the only child, not just the one living
heir thus, no richard carver for our richard to have
decended from. the line ive gotten off most trees goes
richard of south carolina son of archibald and hannah
busseyof v!
irginia (louisa and then ablemarele) son of richard carver
and hannah bolton son of william, i have nothing after this
because it varies widely. according to the documentation the
brasswell/carver researchers have william was an orpahn from
england who managed to raise his social standing by marrying
jane moore only child and heir of john moore an ann giles of
isle of wight. so im as confused as you are, any imput would
be appreciated, trying to link up richard c. revolutionary
war to father archibald and on back to william who married
jane, once we can get that resolved then it will be time to
look back to england, ive seen trees that had a john, and a
thomas as the father in england. orphan is an issue to
because it didnt necisarily mean no parents pft. i do
not have the archeleus m. rothwell or elliot m. davis either
i do have a william carver married mary rives but that
william is also reportedly archibald m. hannah busseys son
so he would have been brother to archibal!
d m. hanah bussey.
time line: william carver c.1649 of england m. jane moore
their children ann carver m. (consort) richard brasswell,
archibald carver (died young) and Richard
richard c. 1684 m. Hannah Bolton their children Mary,
Richard, Sarah, John, Joseph and Archibald
Archibald c. 1720 m. Hannah Bussey their children Joseph,
William B., Cornelius F. , James, Thomas, Manning and
Richard
Richard c. 1765 m. Ann (mnu) also have a nancy and a harriet
all of which COULD be the same person.
I have a strong feeling based on circumstancial evidence tht
Cornelius F. is the forerunner of the Barren county, Ky. he
had a son name Cornelius that established a line in Caroll
county, TN. running up through Jackson, TN. this line i also
think is mixed in with the family in wilson county, tn. it
seems most of the dates and names are SIMILAR to the ones I
have found but off by just a few facts here and there.
Archibalds son William B. had many children that married
into the Beck line and alot of information on them can be
found on various Beck family sites for Virginia, South
Carolina, North Carolina and Tn.
Archibalds son James Carver married Judith Long and that
family line went to madison county, ky which has a long rich
history that is well documented at least to James and his
father through DAR records.
Archibalds son Richard ended up in what is now Oconee, South
Carolina in the Pickens district (at least this is what we
believe at this point) he married either Ann, Nancy or
Harriet mnu (all of which may actually be the same woman)
and had (we believe) at least 7 children who lived to adult
hood, all of those i have documented pretty well, it gets
easier after 1850 (doesnt it always lol) but one son moved
into clayton, rabun georgia area, anothers family moved into
sumner and robertson counties in tn , a daughter is thought
to have been the consort of Daniel Lott of Maryland and the
others seem to have flitted back and forth with their
progeny between the corner areas of georgia, south carolina
and north carolina, i have found lines in flatts, macon
county, north carolina and the mountain there, anderson,
edgefield, oconee and spartenburg counties sc, and in rabun
georgia. they seemed to move back and forth to be near
family or as the ecomomy ebbed an flowed in the area. my!
line is richards son willis whom ended up in
sumner and robertson county some moved on to greer oklahoma
and branched out as far as texas and california, we suspect
a cousin connection to the carvers in macon county tn since
that area encompasses a large area of our known carvers but
havent really figured it out yet.
