Hi Sliang,
I am very curious as to how we are related, as I too descend from William Carver. I have
read the book that was questioned, and in fact, there had been many Carver/Tomlinson
reunions held many years ago, and they based a lot of their booklet that was written up on
that book by Elias Carver.
Here is how I descend from William Carver:
WILLIAM CARVER SR. married Joan KINSEY 11 month 14, 1689 (January)
Son
WILLIAM CARVER JR. (B-May 22, 1694; D-January 1759) married Elizabeth WALMSLEY (D-1772)
daughter of Henry WALMSLEY on December 28, 1719.
Son
HENRY CARVER (D-October 1774) married Rachel SMITH (D-June 1824) daughter of William and
Rebecca WILLSON SMITH in 1755.
Son
BENJAMIN CARVER (B-1767; D-January 4, 1837) married Sarah KIRK (D-October 14, 1816)
daughter of William KIRK in 1789.
Son
LEVI CARVER (B-June 12, 1805; D-September 11, 1881) married Harriet COSNER (B-December 22,
1812; D-September 13, 1887) on April 6, 1827. Levi CARVER is buried in William Penn
Cemetery.
Daughter
REBECCA JANE– Born March 19, 1837, Died April 18, 1915. Married Stephen TOMLINSON on
November 21, 1855. They left 294 descendants, 251 of whom are living.
Son
WILMER L. – Born October 14, 1859, Died December 29, 1922. Married (1) Jennie OWENS;
married (2) Caroline H. BEANS (Died April 29, 1923) in July 1895. There were five (5)
children born to Wilmer L. & Carie TOMLINSON:
Elsie Beans TOMLINSON – B-4/4/1896 at Langhorne PA
Ella Heston TOMLINSON – B5/16/1904 at Newtown PA
Ruth Elizabeth (Betty) TOMLINSON – B-1/21/1907 Woodbourne PA
Cyrus Livesey TOMLINSON – B-8/2/1910 Pineville PA
Robert Ivins TOLINSON – B-11/8/1917 Lahaska PA
Elsie Beans Tomlinson was my Great-Grandmother. She married Warren Beans. They had
three children, one of which was Warren Beans Jr., my Grandfather.

Hello,
I bought this book and there is good information in it.? I descend from William Carver b.
1662 (on of the four brothers who came to the US in early 1780s).?The information in the
book you mention is a good source.? I have confirmed some of the information in meeting
minutes and government documents.

Hello everyone,
I'm researching the Samuel Gilbert/Phebe Carver family of the Philadelphia area
and came across this book:
Genealogy of William Carver from Hertfordshire, England, in 1682
http://books.google.com/books?id=vFU5AAAAMAAJ
It contains information on the Samuel/Phebe that I haven't been able to find
anywhere else and unfortunately doesn't a source it.
Is anyone researching this family by chance, or are there any general opinions
on the quality of data in this book?
Thanks!
Jane
