Information regarding Alexander Carver:
Father:
Christopher Carver, b. 1756 in Lancaster, PA, d. 1850 in NC. Note: I have heard it
discussed, but with no firm documentation, that Christopher's father was Michael
Gerber (and that the name was confused and became Carver due to a Germanic accent) of
Lancaster, PA. If this is the case, I have a lineage chart which goes back to an Andreas
Thomas Gerber, b. May 06, 1564 in Gruenhain, Zwickau, Sachsen (Saxony, Germany).
Mother:
Elizabeth Whisenhunt, b. 1775 in NC, d. 1860 in NC. Note: Elizabeth's father, Philip
Whisenhunt, was also born in Lancaster, PA, and this may have been an arranged marriage
between the two families. The name Whisenhunt is an Anglecization (apologies for spelling
mistakes) of the surname Visanant/Visanand. I have a lineage chart for this family dating
to a Philip Peter Visanand, b. Bet. 1665 - 1697 in Hasslock, Edenkoben, Germany, who d. in
1744 in Lancaster, PA. He was married to an Anna Helena Neff, of Hasslock, Edenkoben,
Germany. I have a lineage chart for this family which goes back to a Conradt Neff, b.
1681 in Switzerland.
Children (including Alexander):
Joseph Carver, b. 1797
Jacob Adam Carver, b. 1799
Thomas Carver, b. 1800 or 1801
David Carver, b. 1803 (I am descended from him and have a lineage chart)
Lucy Carver, b. 1812
Nancy Carver, b. 1815
Alexander Carver, b. 1817
James Carver, b. 1818
This is the extent of my info about Alexander Carver. Feel free to e-mail me for a
complete lineage of any families that I have listed above (I'll give you what I have
at least), or my gedcom file. I hope that this helps.
