You gave some great suggestions; I'd like to add to
them.
genealogylibrary.com is a subscription only site, but
it's well worth the cost. They have a lot of
information there on CARVER and many other families
that married into the CARVERS.
Ancestry.com is good
also, but it too is by subscription.
Don't forget the many free sites. Try typing "CARVER
genealogy" into Google or some other search engine and
you'll be surprised at the results. It works for any
name; I've found things there that were no where else -
including a cousin I lost track of over 35 years ago!
As for CARVER books, go to your nearest genealogy
library and they don't have one of the many books
written on the name, then go to your nearest Family
History Center (FHC). These are libraries run by the
Mormons and are open to everyone. They have books, cds,
microfilm and microfiche. The staff are volunteers and
usually very helpful. Good luck!
