Yes, we are related....but now not positive how! It had been my opinion that my Stephen
Carver was a brother of your Isaac, but Michael Carver says that he is not because he
KNOWS all of the children of Michael (I suppose you know that Isaac's father is
Michael).
After Michael (father of Isaac) died - about 1819, his wife remarried. She didn't
take all of her children with her to the new home. It is my "opinion" that
Stephen was the second to last child -- the reseacher, Michael Carver who is writing a
book, disagrees.
It is my opinion that one of the children who was living with Christian Carver
(grandfather of your Isaac) in the 1820 Switzerland Co., IN census was my Stephen
(1817);however. If so, Stephen is either a child of Christian and his second wife, son of
Michael and therefore brother to your Isaac, or he is the illigitmate son of one of
Christian's daughers.
I have been looking for years -- can't prove anything.
Unfortunately, I am away from home and therefore from my files. I live in CA and am
staying AL until next September. I can't tell you where I got all of my information
unless I look at my files.
You should ask Michael Carver (the researcher that you gives us a lot of information on
this board). Compare my dates with his and if mine don't agree, he is probably right.
I worked extensively on the Carver family for years; but not for past 5 or 6 years. I am
busy writing a book on research on another family.
I am always open to being corrected by other reseachers -- tell me what I have done
"wrong" -- where do we disagree?
