You're right. I'm descended from William and his second wife Mary through two of
their daughters. Their daughter Esther, born about 1700, married Joseph Walton in 1722
under the auspices of Abington Monthly Meeting. Joseph died in 1727 and a year later
Esther married Daniel Knight, whose first wife Elizabeth Walker had committed suicide.
(I'm descended from Esther and Joseph's son Richard who married Abigail Walmsley
Comly). I'm also descended from William and Mary through their daughter Mary, who
married Samuel Worthington. Samuel came to this country as a young boy around 1705 (with
his brother John, another of my ancestors). Samuel married Mary in 1724. They lived at
first in Byberry, but later moved to Buckingham Township along with Mary's brother
William Carver Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Walmsley. Since Samuel and Mary and William and
Elizabeth moved at the same time in 1736, with a certificate from the Abington meeting
granted at the same time, they had probably inheri!
ted land in Buckingham from William Carver Sr. who died in 1736. It's always
interesting to see how much of the family story you can assemble from the various
records.
