Do you have any information at all as to what happened to Jarrel Carver and Nancy Beck? I
assume they were born ca 1775-1785 or slightly later. There is a Nancy Carver in
Montgomery Cy Indiana who was a widow (I have presumed of a Pleasant Carver of Grayson
Kentucky but this may be wrong. Pleasant Carver of Grayson was nearer William's
Geneation b. ca 1750-1765) Nancy's children's information suggests she was born
in the 1785-1795 era in NC or Tennessee.
There were several Carvers in Grayson KY in 1810. William, John, Pleasant, Thomas and
Neil. A couple of other adult male Carvers were living in the houses of the older ones.
They all disappear from the census before 1820. I confess I have not checked Callaway
County to see if they might not have gone there.
Nancy was married to either one of the named Carvers in that group or an adult male living
in the household of one of the named. Her son (or stepson or remotely possibly nephew)
Jesse went from Indiana back to Ketucky and continued on there. Some of his progency
worked their way back to Indiana but along the river. There were probably 4 other boys -
Ishmael, Pleasant, Thomas and Jarrel. Girls were Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary (and possibly
one more. One or more of these may be a neice or nephew) Jarrel is a rare name. I have
not run across it except in this branch of Carvers and the Albemarle Louisa Carvers.
Ishmael and Elizabeth (md McMains) went to Hickory Cy MO with Pleasant and I think Jarrel
nearby in Dallas Cy (1850). Elizabeth, Pleasant, Thomas and Jarrel repaired to Mahaska
Iowa and Ishmael on to Arkansas. This family's Jarrel I believe was in Scotland Cy MO
for a while before settling at last in Mahaska.
I have been stuck trying to get the next generation back from Ishmael, Elizabeth,
Pleasant, Thomas, Jarrel etc (b. ca 1800-1820) Since Jarrel was married to Nancy Beck this
is of interest. Is there any other information you have on them?
Thank you and best regards
Grady Loy
